Developing a method for business structure modeling that takes into account social and environmental values

Abstract

These days, BtoB related companies seek not only profit but also to contribute to society and the environment. Therefore, they have to explain to their business partners how social and environmental values bring wealth to the partners. They needs to comprehend the relationship between social and environmental values, and potential economic values and evaluate the values. However, related works only aim to evaluate social and environmental values. Here, we developed a business evaluation method that accounts for social and environmental values by modeling the relationship between the values and making quantitative evaluations. We used this method in order to evaluate services for railway business and we tested whether this method is useful for consensus building.
