In the recent decade, the number of in-house attorneys has increased 300-fold, but the reasons for this increase and the actual situation have not been clarified. The Japan Federation of Bar Associations conducted a questionnaire survey on the careers of the In-house lawyers. This paper describes the results of a multifaceted analysis of the survey responses. Due to the large amount of content, the presentation will be divided into two parts. This paper will focus specifically on career awareness and position. What career perspectives do in-house lawyers have for job? Also, are there any characteristics in their advancement to higher positions? Questionnaire data was verified using cross-tabulation and other methods. This paper was presented at the symposium on business reform.
