Selection standards based on production history have not yet been clarified, and the target farmers hope to improve based on theoretical values. Therefore, the aim of the present study was to improve on previous studies, present farm- and breed-specific culling criteria in breeding pigs, and identify the sources of inter-farm differences. In order to achieve this goal, this research constructed a mathematical model to explain the breeding records and performed multiple regression analysis. Selection criteria were considered based on the coefficient results. The selection criterion was determined from the weight at birth and at weaning. By comparing the coefficient results and the national average, and examining differences between farms, it is essential to increase the number of pigs per litter.

Presently, websites provide the same amount of travel information for both business and sightseeing customers. However, traveling information is of little interest to business customers because they do not have the time to travel far and so on. Hence, we supposed that the influence of extensive travel information on the repurchase intention of customers depends on their purpose. Based on Oricon customer satisfaction survey data, we tested two purpose models—business and sightseeing—using multiple regression analysis. The results showed that while the abundance of travel information had a positive effect on the repurchase intention of sightseeing customers, no significant effect was found for business customers. In conclusion, travel websites should provide travel information and content according to the purpose of consumers.

Customer satisfaction depends on their usage environment. For example, Häagen-Dazs is improving its brand experience by providing a dedicated spoon to its customers. However, academic discussions on the impact of product or service usage environment are insufficient. Currently, the focus is on OTT(Over The Top) services provided by Netflix . This study hypothesizes that “the Wi- Fi environment at home, which provides unlimited video viewing and communication capacity, has a positive effect on service satisfaction." This hypothesis was supported using Propensity Score Matching on the results of the customer satisfaction survey for users of OTT services. It is suggested that an effective brand experience can be cultivated by considering the usage environment without being restricted to products or services.

In the 2010s, the event community that regularly held hackathons became prosperous. This study analyzes the formation and sustainability of local communities, focusing on Startup Weekends in entrepreneurial communities. First, we quantified the presence of leaders by network analysis of bipartite graphs. Next, we analyzed by logistic regression separately for community formation and sustainability. The leader has a formative and sustained role. At the time of formation, a mover with a high authority value becomes a promoter and a community is formed. After the formation of the second stage, the activities of small and medium-sized urban communities slow down in a few years. In order to prevent it, it depends on the power of the regional leader.

Living in a constantly changing world requires one to deal with changes effectively. However, humans feel a psychological resistance when facing certain types of changes. In this research, we used online reviews of remakes and enhanced versions of Pokémon games to analyse the resistance that users feel in response to replacive changes and additive changes. Text mining analysis of the review data showed that the ratings of users who experienced replacive changes were significantly lower than the others, whereas they did not change much in case of additive changes. A survey focusing on those games is currently ongoing. An experiment using a custom-made game that will allow further control over the changes is also planned.

Expanding the use of person-to-person money transfer service is key to promote the diffusion of cashless payments in Japan. The service can be used with QR code payment apps. Although the utilization rate of QR code payment apps is high, that of the person-to-person money transfer service is low. Therefore, this study identified factors influence the use of person-to-person money transfer service by conducting a covariance structure analysis using data obtained from a questionnaire survey. The results showed that, for example, the impact of "surrounding situation of usage" on the "perceived ease of use" differs depending on the use start period of QR code payment apps, etc. This study provides new insights into the diffusion of cashless payment.

Based on the results, we believe that among social contribution activities conducted by companies and NPOs, collaboration through “cooperation" will provide companies with abundant learning opportunities on how to solve social issues and create social value, as well as improve their social reputation, because they can share the specialized experience and knowledge of partner organizations through close collaborative relationships.

Large-scale power consumers, such as buildings and factories, make high-voltage power contracts with the Japanese electric power companies. The basic fee for high-voltage power contracts is based on the maximum power consumption in the past year. If the power consumption in the present month does not exceed the maximum power consumption in the past year, large-scale power consumers can suppress the basic fee. In this research, we consider the characteristics of each industry's power consumption. As a result, we have improved the accuracy of excess forecasts and contributed to effective alerts to many large-scale power consumers.

This study targets Equipment Onboard Merchant Ships. In addition, this predictive sign of abnormality is an outlier in the data. This study used SHAP, a method for interpreting outlier detection models, to identify factors. As a result, not only did the interpretation match that of the person in charge of the model at the location of the failure, but the factors at the location of the predictive signs of abnormality detected prior to the failure matched the factors of the failure. This allows us to suggest at an early stage what might be a factor in the future.

In Support Vector Regression(SVR), two loss functions have been proposed : the ε-insensitive loss function and the quadratic ε-insensitive loss function. However, the latter has only been proposed, and only linear SVR has been implemented in programs. In this study, we implemented a program for nonlinear SVR using the quadratic ε-insensitive loss function and compared its prediction accuracy with that of SVR using the ε-insensitive loss function. As a result, it was observed that the SVR using the quadratic ε-insensitive loss function has smaller maximum squared error and maximum absolute error between the predicted value and the observed value than the SVR using the ε-insensitive loss function.

Many methods have been proposed to forecast future exchange rates. Among them, one of the methods is to use the data interval similar to the most recent data extracted from the past data for forecasting. In this study, we measure the accuracy of forecasting data based on the assumption that the data of past exchange rate fluctuations that are similar to the most recent data are extracted and that the future fluctuations will be the same as the most recent data. The number of data used and the period of forecasting are varied, and each future forecast is compared with the actual price, aiming at a higher forecasting accuracy rate.

Animation studios sometimes offer process economies as returns when they solicit production costs such as crowdfunding. Based on the hypothesis that "the type of preferred process economy differs depending on the genre of animation," this study surveyed the aware-ness of process economies are suitable as crowdfunding returns. The mean values and standard deviations of the survey revealed the working view and intermediate products, such as production sites, scenes, backstories, rejected illustrations, and doodles, were favorable in all genres. While negative information, such as creators' conflicts, busy schedules, and complaints about work. Likewise, private information, such as creators' faces, life advice, and meals, was unfavorable in all genres. The genres of information were compatible with each genre differed from each other.

In this study, we reproduced the sequential decision-making method for specification changes and observed the differences between Waterfall and Agile development. Then, we created Waterfall and Agile models, and used reinforcement learning to learn the decision of "should specification changes be made?" when user needs changes. As a result of observing the differences in decision-making methods obtained after learning, the Waterfall model tended to make specification changes in the latter half of the development process and to accept them less frequently. Alternatively, in the Agile method, specification changes were made in the first half of the development process, and the number of the acceptance tended to be high. This suggests that it is necessary to change how to make specification changes depending on the development method.

This study investigates how organizations compete and cooperate to define regulations in an industry that is legally controlled and composed of multiple types of industries. Time series analysis was applied to a case in the automotive industry in Japan in the 2010s where automatic emergency brake systems were getting popular and regularized, primarily focusing on the case of commercial vehicles. We found that an accident seems to trigger increasing both regulation-defining and competitive actions. This result can be an example as a method to find a case where regulation changes coopetitive actions.

Inspired by the success of the open-source software development projects, open-source hardware movement has begun. Making all the information open gives the advantage that it is easy to get the user opinions online. On the other hand, it has the disadvantage that the genuine product faces the price competition because it is legal to make a compatible device based on the open schematics.

To investigate why the genuine product can survive in the market, we carried out a market survey for the open-source hardware RaspBerry Pi, which has an ARM based CPU and a Linux based operating system. It was found that there are some amount of consumers that always purchase the genuine product even if the price is higher than the compatible ones.

With the progress in the IoT technology, consumers start using IoT-enabled devices and services at home. However, they are not widely disseminated since they have both positive and negative aspects for consumers. This study extends the technology acceptance model and tries to clarify factors of how IoT-enabled devices/services are accepted and their causal structure. From the structural equation modeling, we identified that perceived usefulness and perceived trustworthiness positively affect attitude towards IoT devices/services and attitude then positively affects intention to use. The findings will be beneficial when companies that provide IoT-enabled devices/services develop marketing strategy of these devices/services.

This paper has clarified the characteristics of the policy framework for regional revitalization, based on the trend of philosophical shifts in national land and regional policies. First, it was shown that the concept of national land policy has changed, and that regional policies are intertwined with each other to play a driving role in today's regional development. Secondly, the legal framework of the Regional Revitalization Law was reviewed, and the transition process of the policy goals presented by the comprehensive strategy and basic policy was clarified. Thirdly, it was shown that the regional revitalization policy is not a single policy, but a general term consisting of multiple laws, policy packages, and financial measures, and has a multi-layered structure.

The purpose of this paper is to use the knowledge of environmental and social psychology as clues to consider how more people can be mobilized for community activities, and how digital technology can contribute to this. First, the definition of "related population ; connected mind" and background of its attention were confirmed. Secondly, it was considered that there has been a repeated increase in interest in regional issues on a global scale. Thirdly, based on the theories of environmental psychology and social psychology, the key to motivating people to action was considered. Finally, using the “related population" as a theme, the policy to mobilize more people to local activities and how to utilize digital technology there were considered.
