Development of Teaching Materials for MRP Implementation Using ERP System

From Item Master Data Setup to MRP

Abstract

As the number of companies implementing ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems increases, there are many papers on ERP education. In this paper, we introduce teaching material for implementing MRP (Material Requirement Planning) on IDES (Internet Demonstration and Evaluation System), an education and training system designed for learning the functions and processes of the ERP package "SAP ERP" provided by SAP SE. The feature of this material is that students execute MRP for their own products. To implement MRP, it is necessary to register key data such as items, BOM (Bill of Materials), work centers, and routings in IDES. Students will deepen their understanding of MRP and ERP systems through the registration of item masters and other data.
