A young Steller's Sea-Eagle, found injured at a local garbage dump, was brought to the Niigata Prefecture Bird Protection Center on 23 Feb. 1992. The bill was injured in a collision, and the bird was unable to feed properly. The bird was fed liquid sugar mixtures until able to eat solid food. After that, the diet was switched to chicken meat and vitamin supplements. The eagle was banded and released on 28 Jan. 1993.
