This paper is devoted to designs of narrowband antennas for antenna sensor applications. For detecting the variation of permittivity of a backing material, a narrow band resonant frequency characteristics are available for precious detection by the resonant frequency shift. In this presentation, some fundamental design concepts to design narrowband antenna are presented. Some installed resonators into the antenna is useful to enhance the Q value resulting in narrow band characteristics. In future, these concept could be applied for antenna sensor using RFID chip or active RFID circuit.
