In this paper, load frequency control of a single generator/turbine power system is numerically simulated by using Proportional Integral – Derivative (PID) controller. The under-frequency relay setting (48.5Hz) with delay time (10s) which is now currently used in steam turbines in Myanmar is considered as a target for load frequency control. It can be found that a PID controller can manage the frequency deviation approach to the zero steady state frequency deviation during 10s. It is included that the effects of speed droop and governor time constant can influence on primary frequency control.
