Suppression of Voltage Rise in High Voltage Distribution System By Controlling Shunt Capacitors

The intent of this paper is to investigate the relationship between static capacitor (SC) and the characteristic of voltage variation due to reverse power flow and Ferranti effect in high voltage distribution system incorporating with PV system. The investigation is done by detaching SC to suppress the voltage rise in high voltage distribution system. Focusing on the change in system voltage due to the reverse power flow and Ferranti effect, we simulated the voltage change in the presence or absence of SC.
