プラシーボ効果に基づく高所恐怖症改善のためのVRシステム

Placebo effect is known as an effect that the power of belief changes human physical and medical conditions. It may be more effective than medicine especially in the case of mental illness treatments. However, its effect is individually different.There are some precedent studies for adopting virtual reality (VR) in the treatment of acrophobia. Combining VR with placebo effect may solve the problem and provide a good therapeutic effect. In this paper, we propose a VR simulation system to remedy acrophobia based on placebo effect, explaining its implementation method and a preliminary experiment.
