The effects of ambient temperature on the performances of the roof mounted CIGS and Si photovoltaic (PV) systems in the suburb residential area of Miyazaki city, Japan, have been analyzed from 2012 to 2017. The variations of the PV system performances have been monitored, and high ambient temperatures determine a decrease of output power performances in the same conditions of solar insolation in both solar systems. In comparison of negative linear relationships between ambient temperatures and PV system performances, Si PV system has more sensitivity to ambient temperature than CIGS PV system.
