Wide-band antennas are commonly used for detection of partial discharges (PD’s). However, the communication signals, including ultra-high frequency band affect the performance of PD measurement due to the same frequency and higher intensity. This paper presents a multiple-narrowband strip antenna that gives to detect PD and selectively eliminate certain frequency noises such as Wi-Fi. The fabricated antenna was used to experiment to detect PD signals, emitted from the needle-plane electrode system in SF6 gas, and the detection performance was compared with a standard horn antenna result.
