With the development of IOT technology, telecommunication technology becomes widely used in underground structures such as manholes. The problem of radio wave attenuation and unstable communication has arisen due to the presence of the iron underground structure cover. In this study, we designed a radio wave transmission underground structure cover for use in sewer pipe monitoring systems. We focused on the shape of the slit in the iron underground structure cover and examined its effect on wireless communication characteristics based on analysis and measurements with self-compensating.
