To secure massive supply chain of semiconductor industry, accurate tracking and strict authentication of components are essential. To trace and identify each component, nano-artifact metrics technologies have been studied. We utilize inkjet technology to add microdisks as physical identifiers. Based on whispering gallery mode resonation, each microdisk reveals a unique lasing spectrum, expected to show lower false rejection and acceptance rates. This study confirms that mass-produced microdisks provide sufficient identities to be defined as a physically unclonable function of each component.
