Continued from Part 1, we studied on the characteristics of obese children's somatotype by their body proportions from the viewpoint of clothing construction. The samples are the same as Part 1. The obese children studied are 442 boys and 540 girls aged 7 to 18. We investigated 13 indices of measurements in relation to stature or bust girth.
Comparing obese children with the average ones, the following facts are observed :
1. Obese children of each age show indices to stature almost equal to the average boys and girls in sleeve length, back waist length, length of slacks and foot length.
2. Obese boys and girls of each age are remarkably superior to the average children in indices of bust girth and back shoulder width to stature and upper arm girth to bust girth. Also indices of waist girth and thigh girth to bust girth of obese boys of each age are superior.
3. Obese children of each age are remarkably inferior to the average boys and girls in indices of neck base girth, head girth and back shoulder width to bust girth.
