Following the previous paper, sewing methods for home-made clothing were compared with the investigation of '67.
(1) Concerning western style garments, more varied techniques were practiced in every region than in 1967, especially in Hiroshima prefecture.
(2) Concerning Japanese style garments, hand-sewing was more frequently practiced than machine-sewing. This was particularly true in Hiroshima and Iwate prefectures.
(3) Concerning bed-clothes, Japanese cushions were more often made by machine-sewing than hand-sewing in every region, while padding of bed-clothes decreased in all three regions.
From these results, it seems necessary to introduce in home economics education more varieties of sewing techniques as well as to retain the traditional hand-sewing techniques.
