Abstract
35 moiré photographs each of the anterior and posterior trunk walls of 2 adult females were taken at 10 second intervals. Points N, C, B, U and W on the anterior and posterior median lines were read as rectangular coordinates on each photograph to examine how the body ways during a time period of 5 minutes and 50 seconds.
The following observations were made regarding the combined movements, which were mainly caused by breathing and changing of the center of gravity :
1) Points on each median line sway unceasingly in antero-posterior, sinistro-dextral and up-down directions. The up-down sway amplitude was small compared with that of anteroposterior and sinistro-dextral sway.
2) There were individual differences between the graphs of movement of point W and its amplitude for the 2 subjects. These suggest a close relationship with the electrogravitiogram of each subject.
3) The morphological characters presumed from median lines viewed from the side of the body of each subject remained stable during the experiment.
