Abstract
In order to clarify frictional properties affected by surface roughness of woven fabrics, the friction and the roughness between woven fabrics and a rigid body (a piano wire whose diameter is 0.5 mm) are studied.
The results are as follows.
If the roughness curve of woven fabric's surface is Z(x) and the mean frictional coefficient is μ(=μAB), μ(x), the frictional coefficient at x, is given by next equation.
μ(x)=μ+dZ (x)/dx / 1-μ· (dZ(x)/dx)
Where x is position at the frictional direction, μA is the frictional coefficient between the fiber and the contactor, and μB is the frictional component except for μA.
