We reported the usage of living space by the dwellers in the ready-built houses in Part 1, and next, the furniture and the storage space in these houses, which made many problems to disturb everyday life in Part 2. Here, we report on the actual situation and estimation by dwellers for the kitchen in the ready-built houses, which is the same houses as Part 1 and Part 2.
The results are as follows :
1. “K” and “DK” types of the kitchen are predominant in the ready-built houses. Although the homemakers who work in the kitchen “K” are satisfied, the others who work in “DK” and “LK” types of the kitchen are dissatisfied with their kitchen. And then, they will want to have “K” type of the kitchen as desirable type.
2. Of the space of kitchen, there are 7 kinds (K-5.68, 6.63 m2. DK-9.94, 11.59, 13.25 m2. LK-16.56, 19.87 m2). Especially, they are dissatisfied in the case of 9.94 m2, 11.59 m2, but satisfied in the case of 13.25 m2.
3. Kitchen work centers are arranged in most popular the “I” shape type or the stripe type, but the homemakers desire the “L” shape types. Besides they are dissatisfied with the frontage of the base cabinet counter and the sapce of storage of the kitchen.
4. In the case of the detached houses, the homemakers still desire a big window in the front of the kitchen base cabinet counters to make a well lighted and comfortable.
