Abstract
This paper examined the moving fitness of slacks based on measurement of clothing pressures on abdominal and lumbar regions, which were changed by variations of the structural elements of slacks ; the back crotch width and the gradient of the back center-line. Six types of slacks were used ; type 1 was the basic pattern by draping, types 2 and 3 were variations in the back crotch width (-2 cm, +2 cm) of the basic pattern, types 4 and 5 were variations in the gradient (10, 20°) of the back center-line of the basic pattern and type 6 was the gradient 20° with the less crotch width.
The results were as follows ; (1) Clothing pressures of the slacks of the back crotch width+ 2 cm were about 2 times as much as that of the slacks of the gradient 10° and the gradient20°in the sitting posture. (2) Clothing pressures of the gradient 20° with the less back crotch width were almost same as that of the gradient 20° in the sitting posture. (3) As for clothing pressures on abdominal and lumbar regions, the gradient of the back center-line had better effect on the moving fitness than the back crotch width.
