Wegener's granulomatosis is an uncommon syndrome in which malignant granuloma-tosis in the upper respiratory tract occurs together with granulomatous and vascular lesions resembling those in polyarteritis nodosa. In this paper, clinical and pathological features based on clinico-pathological studies of our 2 autopsy cases and 54 autopsy cases selected from the Japanese literature were described and discussed. Considering from the clinico-pathological studies, the author agrees with Alarcon-Segovia and Brown's opinion (1964) that Wegener's granulomatosis may be pathologically considered in the middle entities in a continuous spectrum ranging from pure necrosis and granuloma formation (Loeffler's syndrome or eosinophilic granuloma) to pure angitis (PAN).
