Clinical evaluation of ototopical solution with 0.5% and 1.0% CMX were performed for 35 patients associated with ear infection. CMX ototopical solution were administered twice or three times per day for one week to at longest two weeks. Clinical effects were obtained as follows. 1. In 22 cases, to which 0.5 CMX ototopical solution were administered, clinical results were excellent in 13 cases (59.1%), good in 7 cases (31.9%), fair in one case (4.5%) and poor in one case (4.5%). 2. In 13 cases, which received 1.0% CMX ototopical solution, clinical resuluts were excellent in 9 cases (69.2 %), good in one case (7.7%) and fair in 3 cases (23.1%). 3. No side effects were seen in all patients. 4. These results indicate that CMX ototopical solution is useful medication for the treatment of localized ear infection.
