The relationship between the effects of minor tranquilizer and the results of CMI and MPI tests in patients with foreign body sensation in the throat was analysed by comparing with the same test battery obtained from inner ear vertiginous patients. The conclusions were summerized as follows; 1. CMI test revealed that the number of types III and IV, indicating neurotic or suspicious of neurosis, were significantly smaller than that observed in vertiginous patients. 2. Minor tranquilizer showed greater effects not only in patients with type III or IV but also in those with relatively higher N score, in MPI test. These results suggest that CMI and MPI tests are useful methods for determining whether or not minor tranquilizer be given to the patients.
