The “blood vessel neurosis” caused by disturbances of the blood vessel function is the disease resulting from the contraction or dilation of the peripheral blood vessels due to disturbances of the blood vessel nerve function.
The author measured the red cell sedimentation rate and the serum viscosity of 37 patients in the otorhinolaryngological field(10 Meniere's disease, 7 nervous deafness, 9 other diseases of ear, and 11 diseases of nose and throat)that seemed to have been caused by disturbances of blood vessel function, gave them injection of 7 % sodium bicarbonate solution as treatment, and observed their progress.
The results were summarized as follows.
1)Slight increase of the red cell sedimentation rate was seen in 20 cases of the 35, or 57%.
2)Silght increase of serum viscosity was seen in 26 cases of the 35, or 75%.
3)It was seen that the increases of the red cell sedimentation rate and the serum viscosity in these diseases returned to normal gradually by injection of the sodium bicarbonate solution.
