As regards the effect of partial resection on malign tumors, it has been a prevailing opinion that partial resection usually results in undesirable course of rapid growth of the tumors, but occasionally favorable results in the form of contraction or fading-away of the tumors may be expected of partial resection.
An example of such a case is reported. The patient, a woman aged 73, who had been suffering from reticulosarcoma of bilateral Tonsillae palatinae and Tonsilla lingualis, was given the operation of partial resection and the deep irradiation of X-ray on the tumors, and she got a perfect cure.
