Frey syndrome is characterized by profuse sweating and flushing, usually in the area innervated by the auriculotemporal nerve.
A pedicle flap from the sternomastoid muscle was ulitized in selected patients to prevent the occurrence of the Frey syndrome following parotid surgery. We employed this flap on eight cases and all of patient recovered well without Frey syndrome.
