Biohydrogen is fuel for fuel cells with high efficiency and low environmental impact. However, the syngas obtained by biomass gasification contains impurities. In this study, we focused on hydrogen chloride (HCl), which is an impurity causing deterioration of fuel cell performance. Considering removal of HCl at low temperature (100-200°C), HAS-Clay and Clay were mentioned as candidates for desalting agent. From the viewpoint of environmental impact (GWP and ADP), Clay is highly competent. However, HAS-Clay was suggested to be reusable, confirmation experiments were conducted in this study.
