The deposits of ash particle to the water-cooled wall were investigated using the reactor with laboratory scale under an entrained bed gasification condition. The particle size below 3μm was mostly trapped on the wall by molecular diffusion and thermophoresis. The amount o f deposition of large particles, greater than 5μm in diameters, increased significantly by the addition of hydrogen sulfide. The effects of stickiness and melting of particles on deposit were discussed in the paper.
