This paper presents the oxidation reactivity of the coal chars produced under the difference heating rate conditions. The one is produced under the low heating rate of 20℃/min using the TGA whereas the other is under the high heating rate of around 100,000℃/s in the small-scale, experimental blowpipe. In addition, the reaction rate parameters are also evaluated. As a result, the reactivity of the char produced in the blowpipe shows higher than that of the one produced using the TGA in higher temperature conditions. The activation energy as well as the frequency factor of the char produced in the blowpipe are both high. Therefore, it is important to produce a char under the actual thermal condition when the reactivity is discussed and the reaction rate parameters are evaluated.
