The high-pressure Brillouin measurements for hydrogen hydrate C1 phase with “filled ice” structure have been performed to evaluate its elastic properties. By comparison with the pressure dependences of adiabatic elastic constants for methane hydrate sI, ice-Ih and ice-VII phases, it is found that the pressure dependences of the elastic constant C44 for ice related materials depend on the surrounding structure of hydrogen bond because the guest molecules sustain the hydrogen bonds from their sides by the repulsive interaction.
