In this study, we performed GPS surveys, activity surveys, and questionnaire surveys of Kure Chuo Park in Kure City, Hiroshima Prefecture, to understand the actual user activities of the park and user evaluations. In addition, a social experiment was conducted to promote daily use of the park, and its effectiveness was clarified by comparing the results with those of normal conditions. The results showed that (1) while some blocks of the park showed a variety of activities, other blocks tended to have more activities for movement such as walking and passing through the park, and fewer activities that involved staying in the park, and (2) as a result of the social experiment assuming daily use, even small-scale installation of "objects" resulted in an increase in the number of visitors to the park compared to normal use, and new activities (painting, etc.) that were not seen in the normal situation were also observed, (3) Questionnaire surveys revealed that there is a high demand for "objects" in the park such as food and beverage services, table and chair sets, and Wi-Fi spots.
