Several factors affecting the wearing and sticking properties of W contacts which are now used for vibrators were investigated. In order to measure weight losses, a cam apparatus was used and to measure the sticking properties, a resonance type testing apparatus was specially deviced and used. The results obtained are as follows: The anode of contact is apt to be worn mainly by oxidation, while the cathode by electric causes. The grain size does not greatly affect the wearing properties. The sticking properties are remarkably affected by the grain size and surface roughness. Fine grain structure and fine raggedness on the contact surface give good results.
