IPMSM using rare-earth sintered permanent magnets generally have high performance. However, since rare-earth sintered magnets contain dysprosium (Dy), they are very expensive and there is concern about the stability of supply of this resource. Therefore, the use of the IPMSM using Dy-free rare-earth bonded magnet is considered. However, the rare-earth bonded magnet increases the risk of irreversible demagnetization. In this study, we examine the structure of IPMSM using rare-earth bonded magnets to solve the issue. Therefore, it is necessary to examine the method of demagnetization suppression. In this paper, we analyzed the influence on the occurrence of irreversible demagnetization by changing the number of the armature winding and the magnet shapes of the rotor.
