Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to examine the Consumer Education programs provided by the accredited university units by AAFCS. Results: 1. Fifty-nine university units were accredited by AAFCS on August/September 2001. 2. Nineteen undergraduate level programs use the term "consumer" within their program names/ titles. 3. Sixty-seven educational courses use the term "consumer" within their course names. 4. Through a case study of the University of Alabama curriculum, I consider the challenges for further research.
