The purpose of this study is to examine textbook descriptions of “infant interaction experience
activities” in junior high school home economics classes. This study was conducted from the viewpoint of
the aims and contents of kindergarten education.
As a result, the description of the area “environment” constituted approximately 10%. It was found
that there was a significant lack of descriptions that would lead to achieving aim (1). Also, the description
related to “school exploration tours” was appropriate, but it was handled by only one company. Activities
that bring people into contact with nature and seasonal activities were not included. It was proposed that
these contents be included in textbooks and further to be put into practice.
