We investigated the hearing impaired to evaluate the relationship between sign language video playback speed and ease of reading. Consequently, the easy-to-read playback speed was found to be dependent on sign language skill level, length of signing experience, and sign language content. By creating a variable-speed sign language playback system with five-level speed selection on the Internet, we conducted a questionnaire survey and verified the usefulness of the system.
