ワサビの生育と作土性質について

抄録

We attempted to apply the burned soil (mixed ashes of tree leaves and branches) on the culturing bed soil of the horse radish (Eutrema wasabi) field.
At the end of the growing period the seedlings were harvested and measured; then culturing bed soils were sampled and determined on their properties.
(1) The growth and yield remarkably increased by the treatment. Especially the new shares of seedlings showed the better results.
(2) On the mechanical compositions of culturing bed layers, percentages of silt and clay in the treated plot indicated some higher value in comparison with the control plot.
(3) Two years elapsed since beginning of the treatment. The results of chemical analysis have shown that the contents of humus and nitrogen in the treated plot are higher than those in control plot; but that pH value shows no difference between them.
