The relationships between forest road. length and the forest area being exploited were investigated along 436 routes. As a result of this study, we confirmed that HACK'S law on geography holds good for the relationship between forest road length (L) and the forest area being exploited (A) . That is, this relationship can be expressed by the equation L=kAN (measurements in meters and hectares), where the constant k is 115.35, the exponent n is 0.677, and the correlation coefficient is 0.94. Both of the constant values, especially the constant k, are large compared with HACK'S law. It can be considered that the difference between the equation and HACK'S law are affected by the winding of the forest road and the shape of the exploited forest area.
