As a conventional method in the production process of general-purpose motor parts, a press-fitting method has been adopted in the process of fitting the rotor core and shaft, which are the main parts of the motor. When press-fitting, a quality problem of run-out of the rotor shaft occurs. In this research, we devised a shrink fitting method by high frequency induction heating of a rotor shaft for general-purpose motors that replaces the conventional method. In order to optimize the devised construction method, we paid attention to the linearity of high-frequency induction heating energy input/output. We proposed the application of the "functionality evaluation method" with the ideal function being the linear proportional relationship between the shaft diameter and the runout when the rotor shaft is inserted. The effectiveness of the more robustness construction method was verified by analyzing the linearity of input and output, evaluating it with the energetic S/N ratio. As a result of research, the SN ratio is obtained from the results of the orthogonal table experiment, and the shrink fitting method is practically applicable by extracting the combination of optimum processing condition levels from the factor effect diagram and confirming the experiment, which is superior to the conventional method. It is clear that the quality can be guaranteed technically.
