    It is difficult for the people have physical disabilities. Especially, people with poor fingertips drive a car while using an accelerator on right hand and a brake on left hand. But, there is a problem that is difficult for those people. We suggest the blinker and hazard lamp support system for the people have handicapped in arm and fingers. The system determines the face direction using the camera and microphone. After that the system starts a blinker or hazard. As a result, we made possible for those people turn on a blinker or hazard.

    Garment factories in Japan require automated work to make up for labor shortage. The purpose of this study is to develop a robot that automates the end process of adhesive interlining. The special feature of this robot is that it can grip and move a flexible fabric and stack it with high precision; as a result, the next process can be easily performed. A non-contact pad is used to grip the fabric, and the gripping point is determined by image processing, which uses a camera. A device was created to simulate the belt conveyor installed in a continuous crimping machine, and the performance of the robot was evaluated by measuring the displacement of the fabrics stacked by it.

    In this paper, the method to evaluate the distribution of bright materials contained in multilayer coating on car body panels using low coherence digital holography is proposed. In comparison with the conventional methods based on either confocal microscopy or optical coherent tomography, the proposed method can achieve both surface profile measurement and wider measurement area of car body panels. In this method, the reconstructed amplitude and the phase distribution of the object wave reflected from each paint layer can be obtained and used for investigating both the surface profile of the coating film and the distribution of bright materials in the desired paint layer. It is shown that the thickness of the clear paint layer on two pieces of gray car-body-panels having the different appearance is different and the depth distribution of the bright materials shows a local variation in both body-panels. In addition, by comparing the results with optical microscope observation, it is suggested that the paint appearance depends on the thickness of the clear coat layer in the car-body-panel.

    In the present study, a new drawing compasses required for drawing a precise circle with uniform thickness and even application of dark line was developed. The performance of the new drawing compasses was evaluated. In the developed drawing compasses, by holding with one finger, a lead is set up, and a constant writing pressure is put on the lead. By pushing with same one finger, a pushing force is acted to the developed drawing compasses in only one direction, and the circle is drawn. In this paper, a structure, a mechanism and form changes about the developed drawing compasses were shown. An analytical model was generated for analyzing the pushing force and the writing pressure. The drawing compasses was created actually. The validity of the analytical model was checked from a comparison between the created drawing compasses and the analytical model. The circle was drawn actually using the created drawing compasses. From analysis results using the analytical model, effects on drawing the precise circle with uniform thickness and even application of dark line to the plane of the paper using the developed drawing compasses were shown.

    The atomization technology of liquid is applied to a lot of fields like internal combustion engine, agriculture, chemistry, food, and medical supply, etc. now, and the important technology for solving the problems of environmental problems and energy conservation. In recent years, a micro bubble with diameter of tens of μm or less is paid to attention. As for this micro bubble, various characteristics that bubble with diameter of several mm doesn't have are possessed and, for instance, water purification, oil separating, growth promotion of creature, and reduction of frictional resistance are reported. In this study, it was examined whether making a further water drop minute was possible by mixing micro bubbles into water using a whirl type injection valve. Moreover, the influences of micro bubble diameter and void fraction on water drop diameter were examined. As a result, in low-pressure of atomizing pressure Ps=0.2MPaG, the maximum 32% effect of atomization was able to be achieved by mixing micro bubbles into water. Moreover, it was clarified that the effects of atomization were almost the same in 0.1% or more of void fraction.

    Recently, the micro bubble with bubble diameter of less than 50μm is paid to attention. As for this micro bubble, various characteristics that bubble with diameter of several mm doesn’t have are possessed. For instance, water purification, oil separating, growth promotion of creature, and reduction of frictional resistance are reported. The swirl type method, the pressurizing dissolution method, and the perforated plate method, etc. are proposed as the method for generation of micro bubble. The swirl type method can comparatively generate the micro bubble even by low-pressure power in simple structure. In this present study, the effect of shape of swirl chamber on bubble diameter was examined by using the three kinds of shape of swirl type micro bubble generators, which were cylindrical type, taper type, and improved taper type. As a result, it was found to be able to reduce the bubble diameter in the order of improved taper type, taper type, and cylindrical type. And it was clarified that radial outflow type generator could make bubble diameter small compared with axial outflow type generator, and the optimum nozzle shape was the nozzle with inlet angle of 45 degrees, outlet angle of 60 degrees, and nozzle diameter of 3mm. Moreover, it was found that the average bubble diameter of 30μm was obtained under pressure condition of 0.22MPaG in the above-mentioned nozzle shape.

    To improve the performance of the straight Darrieus type wind turbine, we attached the outer flow guides around the wind turbine and performed both the wind tunnel experiments and 2D numerical simulations. The flow guides are simple rectangular plate and have the same height with the wing span. The guide plates were attached at regular intervals radially. The number of guide plate was changed from 3 to 5, and then the power coefficients of the wind turbine were compared. As results, the condition with the 5 guide plates showed the highest power coefficient. In other wind direction condition, when a plate is mounted parallel to main flow showed the highest power coefficient. When the clearance between the guide plate and the wing is changed in the same total diameter, the middle clearance condition showed the highest power coefficient in consideration.

    Michi-no-eki is a hit item in Japan, and is registered 1,173 locations as of March 2020 by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism. In previous research, it has been reported that the number of customers is correlated with the land use information around Michi-no-eki (building site and road) and the agriculture, forestry and fishery information of Michinoeki (registered supply farmers and facilities area (agriculture, forestry and fisheries direct sales store)). In this paper, we propose a method for estimating the number of customers of Michi-no-eki from the land use information and the agriculture, forestry and fishery information using the similarity of Michino-no-eki. To verify the effectiveness of our method, we conducted experiments to compare the performance of our method with a method for estimating the number of customers using multiple regression analysis. In the experiments, we used the information of Michi-no-eki in Kyushu region.

    Looking at the application examples of electron beam welding in recent years, in addition to nuclear or space-related parts that require high-quality welding, lap joints such as automobiles and aircraft parts, spigot butting, or partial welding etc. has also been applied. On the other hand, regarding Electron Beam Welding (EBW) strength, there have been several reports to date on residual stress and deformation behavior of thick plates. However, there are still many unclear points regarding the behavior of thin plate welding and partial penetration welding applied to automobile parts. In addition, welding for stabilization of welding strength and dimensional characteristics related to “High Quality (Q)” and “Cost Reduction (C)” and “High Productivity (D)” (QCD), which are the three elements of the productivity index. There are no systematic study cases on optimization of processing conditions. Therefore, in this study, the ideal function was set with the characteristic value being the amount of strain in the joint due to the effect of the penetration heat energy added during welding. We propose to apply "Functionality Evaluation Method" to evaluate the characteristic value of energy that affects welding strength and dimensional accuracy.

    In a car under summer solar radiation, the surface and air temperatures become very high, for example the air temperature around driver's seat was over 65 degree C. Thus, a ventilation system is one of the important methods for keeping comfortable thermal environment. In this study, in order to clarify the effect of temperature reduction around driver's seat, the experiment of measuring temperature and the numerical simulation under changing the blowing direction to driver's seat backrest in a car cabin were conducted. In case of flow rate of 100m3/h, it was found that the effects of temperature reduction on the driver's seat and around the driver's seat with FACE-C mode ventilation were remarkable compared with FACE mode ventilation.

    In the revised road traffic law, drivers are allowed to engage in non-driving-related behaviors, such as reading books and operating smartphones, while using the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) level 3 autonomous driving. However, previous research shows that drivers over-rely on autonomous driving. The safety of SAE level 3 autonomous driving will be in question if it allows drivers behaviors unrelated to driving. Therefore, we observed drivers' behavior on autonomous driving using a driving simulator and consider the tendency of behavior. The results show that most drivers become sleepy with time and operate their smartphones because they become bored during autonomous driving.

    As a conventional method in the production process of general-purpose motor parts, a press-fitting method has been adopted in the process of fitting the rotor core and shaft, which are the main parts of the motor. When press-fitting, a quality problem of run-out of the rotor shaft occurs. In this research, we devised a shrink fitting method by high frequency induction heating of a rotor shaft for general-purpose motors that replaces the conventional method. In order to optimize the devised construction method, we paid attention to the linearity of high-frequency induction heating energy input/output. We proposed the application of the "functionality evaluation method" with the ideal function being the linear proportional relationship between the shaft diameter and the runout when the rotor shaft is inserted. The effectiveness of the more robustness construction method was verified by analyzing the linearity of input and output, evaluating it with the energetic S/N ratio. As a result of research, the SN ratio is obtained from the results of the orthogonal table experiment, and the shrink fitting method is practically applicable by extracting the combination of optimum processing condition levels from the factor effect diagram and confirming the experiment, which is superior to the conventional method. It is clear that the quality can be guaranteed technically.

    Most of the quality inspections (including visual inspections) in the production process are mainly conducted by humans (inspectors). There is a problem that judgments vary due to the influence of the physical condition of the inspector and environmental changes, and there is a demand for the development of an analytical method that can be quantitatively and automatically judged. In this paper, we focus on improving the efficiency of quality inspection of cooling motor fans inside electronic equipment, where demand is increasing due to the weight reduction of IT equipment. The subject of the sensory test requires a lot of experience to accurately diagnose the slight difference in the sound emitted by the fan (sound pressure), and the judgment may vary depending on the physical condition of the inspector and changes in the environment. We apply the "Pattern Recognition MTS (Mahalanobis Taguchi System) method" which enables discriminant analysis of inspection events, and approached the optimization of normal/abnormal discrimination accuracy. As a result of the research, it was verified that it is extremely effective as compared with the conventional discriminant analysis method (FFT analysis etc.).

    It is difficult for students under hospital care by the reasons of severe disease to attend school classes, and there exists many students who takes remote classes due to COVID-19 in 2020. We constructed a system which enables a student to attend classes using an alter ego robot which provides scenery of the class to the student through a monitor in front of the student. It is important to restrict the amount of information on the class lesson given to the student to avoid decrease in concentration. As a method to restrict the amount of the information, we propose a service in which notable description on the blackboard pointed by the teacher is magnified and shown to the student through the monitor. The parameters which can affect human psychology such as magnification rate, tracking characteristics to the change of the pointed position, the timing to return from magnification to the normal display when the pointing motion ends, are evaluated by the Semantic Differential method. It is clarified from the factor analysis that the emotion to the service can be expressed by the factors of legibility, emotionality and stability. In addition, the desirable magnification rate, breakpoint frequency of the first order delay characteristics to the change of pointed position, and dead time before returning to the normal display are clarified.
