Two patients, 67 year-old and 66 year-old males, visited our hospital because ofsudden tongue edema. Each edema seemed to be of transient. In one case, massive edema was first observed in the right half of the tongue, but next appeared in the left side. In another case, the affected site changed from the half of the tongue to the upper lip. While the etiology of Quincke's edema is not clear, these findings suggested that reversible dysfunction of vascular sympathetic nerve would be a factor influencing this etiology.
