The College of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Ritsumeikan University offered a two-week study abroad program called the Toronto Clinical Training Program. This program was held jointly with the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto and the Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy at the University of Toronto. It allowed students to practice their English skills and to expand their learning experiences in pharmacy and hospital practice during the fifth year of their pharmacy studies. This study evaluated the program based on the results of a questionnaire completed by the participants following the program. The results revealed that the program could be improved by helping students’ English listening skills and by learning about the pathophysiology and pharmacotherapy of pediatric diseases beforehand. In terms of the practical training provided in Toronto, the ward training met the needs of the students. However, further investigation of the students’ understanding of lectures and seminars in the specialized areas and the role of accompanying teachers on the learning was considered necessary.
