Abstract

According to the revised Model Core Curriculum for Pharmaceutical Education, the student’s practical training should include collaboration among universities, pharmacies, and hospitals for creating experiences with eight common diseases, hands-on training, and a rubric evaluation. A questionnaire targeting preceptors and student pharmacists of Gifu Pharmaceutical University in 2019 and 2020 was conducted to compare and clarify the differences between the actual practical training and the efforts made. The students were significantly more likely than their preceptors to say they had good cooperation between the university and the training facility. Except for diabetes in the hospital training and infectious diseases in the pharmacy training, a higher percentage of students answered that they had experience in the eight medical conditions and home healthcare. Therefore, it is necessary to understand the differences in responses between the two groups to develop more meaningful practical training.
