This article summarizes the contents of the symposium at the 8th Annual Meeting of the Japan Society for Pharmaceutical Education, “What is Needed to Elevate Pharmaceutical Education Research into Academic Papers?” The Japan Society for Pharmaceutical Education was established in 2016, promoting educational practice and research. At academic conferences, many posters are presented, and discussions on research topics are extensive. However, the number of published papers remains lower than the number of poster presentations. Therefore, this symposium aimed to develop educational research results into publications. The themes discussed included: 1) the journey from initiating pharmaceutical education research to writing a paper, 2) tips for designing research that can be published, and 3) the necessary environment for conducting research. It is hoped that researchers practicing educational research will grow, leading to more paper submissions.
