Abstract

The number of university students going on to university in 2040 is estimated to be 510,000 by the declining birthrate, currently being reduced by 120,000. Since the number of national university corporations in 2018 is 95,650, this number far exceeds the capacity of all national university corporations. If we take such a dramatic change in the management environment and aim for development as a tailwind, it is necessary to redefine the "domain" as a university. Looking at this dramatic change, Kochi University declared that President Katsutoshi Sakurai, who took office in April this year, aims for "Super Regional University (SRU)". In this paper, I will attempt to redefine the management domain of our university as SRU from the standpoint of community collaboration on site, and I would like to describe concrete activities that our university should deal with in order to realize it.
