Activated interaction plays important role in deepening relationship on remote communication. We have developed a communication system that changes the background color from the black to the warm color based on the estimation model. This system supports sharing an activated interaction in spatially separated communication for friends. However, in the first meeting, when the background color suddenly changes from the warm color to the black, it brings a negative impression of the silence in the conversation. In this study, we developed an expression method of afterglow that enhances of impressions in first meeting. This method generates slowly changing the background color when the conversation is finished. Furthermore, a communication experiment was conducted to evaluate the developed method in comparison with the previous real-time expression method. Experimental results indicated that the developed method is effective for the first meeting, although the selected method differs depending on the talker’s preference.
