'Face' means a lot to both Chinese and Japanese people. According to Sueda's paper (1993), Chinese people pay more attention to financial capacity than Japanese people do. But Zan's 'face' survey(2019) finds Chinese people aged around 20 years old tending to be indifferent to their financial capacities. As time goes by, it's likely for young generation in China to change their thoughts. Therefore, it is essential for a further investigation. This article investigates the perspectives of Chinese young generation aged 20 to 40 on personal financial capacity and 'face' through questionnaires.
