The purpose of this study is to introduce the outline of the practice of "Psychology for Learning Japanese", a content-oriented course for advanced learners of Japanese. This study aims to develop learners' metacognition, and to discuss the findings of the past practice. It was found that many learners who have reached the advanced level are aware of the decline in their motivation to learn Japanese, and that it is necessary to learn about the emotional aspects of learning, including learning anxiety. In addition, it was found that it is effective to embody Japanese proficiency as a metacognition of the task, to learn about memory and skills as a metacognition of the strategy, and to share each other's learning experiences in class in order to keep motivation of learning.
