Landslides phenomena are caused by many factors such as lay of the land, geological features, properties of soil, water balance and others.
We collected many data over more than 20 years, in order to analyzed on mechanism of the landslides occurred in SHIKOKU ISLAND. called HASAITAI JISUBERI in Japan
In this paper, we obtained the following conclusions from the examination of the distribution of landslides.
1. Landslides are closely relatde to geological features. This fact is well known to all,
2. Landslides occur frequently, but on a small scale,
3. Distribution of landslides are closely related to drainage patterns.
4. Location of landslides are occupied in new geographic features eroded by rivers.
