Abstract

According to the Japan Finance Corporation 2023 survey, though the number of Japanese female entrepreneurs is increasing, it is still below 24.8%. One of the reasons for this low number is a sense of disempowerment due to social gender inequalities. This paper focuses on the empowerment of women entrepreneurs and aims to develop support methods and tools, and to examine methods for developing supporters. M-GTA analysis was employed to reveal the process of empowerment of women entrepreneurs. It was found that self-efficacy is necessary for entrepreneurship and self-renewal is necessary to reduce the risk of business closure. With the support of the methods and tools, several women entrepreneurs decided to start their own business.
