This research was done to develop the new energy saving-type building material, which has both functions of the moisture adsorptionldesorption function and the moisture permeation function. The membranes were made by pressing allophone powder and xonotlite powder, and then they were used as test pieces. The moisture adsorptionldesorption function, which is the excellent function which allophane has, was never lost even if it formed allophane at the membrane. Moreover, it was confirmed that the moisture permeation function shows newly at the time by forming at the membrane. The role of xonotlite mainly was a role as the binder of the membrane formation.
